Ok, you’re probably thinking I have completely lost my mind. Hear me out.
If you follow me on Instagram
you need to, you probably have seen my IG stories about my podcast obsession. My favorite beauty podcast Fat Mascara had this episode a couple of months ago that I can’t let go. The hosts interviewed Erika Shumate, co-founder of the millennial cult fave fragrance brand Pinrose. They brought up the Pinrose quiz (and I love me a quiz). The brand has developed a series of questions that helps you discover a scent that suits your preferences.
This is how they explain it.
Maybe the most interesting strategy in pinpointing your scent is the phenomena of synesthesia. For example, if you gravitate to citrus scents, you may associate the scent with the color orange or yellow. If you love aquatic fragrance, maybe you feel like it’s a blue smell.
I was paired with three fragrances based on my quiz results and I feel like they nailed it.
- Sun Saint: sea salt, coconut, lime
- Secret Genius: vanilla, caramel, sandalwood
- Cuddle Pink: apricot, vanilla, cypress
Um yes. Also, let’s chat about how effing perfectly quirky these names are?! They sell sample kits of all of the scents so you can be sure. They also have layering recipes (!!!!) for extra customization depending on your mood that day.
You can personalize candles & bottles on their site as if the experience wasn’t feeling custom enough. Can we say obsessed?!
